Happy Labour Day! Happy Lily of the Valley Day!

Dear Golden Care Members,
Our team would like to wish you a happy Labour Day!
How will you celebrate it this year? Because of the current situation our relationship with work is not the same as it was previously.
And yet, let’s not forget it! This holiday is to honour all workers. It’s an annual, international holiday celebrating workers.
Up until this day, it has been honoured in many countries, but do we really know the origins of this day of commemoration? How about taking a few minutes of our time to look back at its history?

The struggle for workers’ rights took place not only in France, but also in the United States, where it all began. A short video explains the history in more detail.
Every country has its own day of celebration!

We know that this festival has an international dimension: Norway, Sweden , United Kingdom, India and other countries all still celebrate this day! And although it does not take place on the same day for everyone or even in the same month, (taking into consideration the time differences) the tradition of Labour Day is still widely celebrated.
Lily of the Valley, emblem of May Day

In fact, red rosehip was the first flower to symbolize Labour Day. But why and how did the lily of the valley manage to take its place? This article will explain understand its symbolism, which is not only political. Indeed, the lily of the valley also brings good luck, so if you can, do not hesitate to offer lily of the valley to your loved ones.
This year let’s celebrate this day with our loved ones at home!
