Information about health situation
Dear Golden Care Member,
The situation we are all facing as a result of the “Covid-19” virus is exceptional to say the least.
We hope that the restraints it imposes on us will be in place for as short a time as possible so that life can return to normal.
The intention of this note is to provide you with the information you will need to assist you in dealing with any eventualities that you may face, wherever you are in the world.
It is true that the average age of people likely to develop complications with this infection has been lowered from 65-70 to 50-55 years, even less! That said, in the majority of cases, the symptoms remain benign and provided you follow the medical advice you should soon be back on your feet.
Who to contact?
In an epidemic and/or a pandemic, should you develop symptoms indicative of coronavirus, it is of primary importance that you immediately contact whatever facilities are available to you locally.
Every health authority, no matter where you are in the world, will have procedures in place. These procedures concern your life before you notice symptoms and/or as soon as you become aware of them.
Should you suddenly experience difficulty breathing you should immediately contact the numbers provided by the health authorities. Do this as soon as you experience symptoms.
Our medical emergency platform is operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year as usual.
You will find the contact details on your insurance card or in section 6 of your general terms and conditions “How to report a claim”.
Your Golden Care team remains fully committed to supporting you and continuing to deliver the usual quality of service in all areas and we thank you in advance for your patience should any delays occur.
Acting on behalf of private insurers, we must imperatively comply with the provision issued by the health authorities and therefore any assistance operations are subject to the restrictions imposed on us by this case of majeure emergency.
Please note that your Golden Care contract will only cover any treatment linked to Covid-19 WITHIN SWITZERLAND*.
